Production Blog: Assembling the project

Image
I am really glad I suggested that we film extra scenes. There were so many scenes that were unusable. Luckily we filmed extras for almost every scene. One minor change that happened with the extra scenes was my friend was our 'Uber' driver instead of my little brother. There were also some other very minor changes. However, most are unnoticeable to anyone who didn't already have a specific plan for the project. We all decided to do the editing at Tom's house. He has the best computer and most experience in editing. I got stuck in traffic on the way there and ended up being late. It wasn't an issue, as Tom and Nicolas had already started working. The first thing done was sending all of the videos to one central location. Once Tom had all the clips he put them together.  We all agreed to use CapCut. It is an easy to use editing application. It is something that everyone knows how to do. At this point I had arrived. I noticed that my idea to have built-in transitions

Production Blog: House Scenes

This blog is about how my group filmed the rest of our scenes. The day started out with Nicolas calling me to tell me he was running late. Tom arrived on time though. Once he did arrive, we got sidetracked quickly. We talked for a while, then went inside to get water. When we went inside we got distracted again and went to go play games. Eventually, we realized that we needed to get the project done. I brought out the props while Nicolas and Tom got ready. I set up the camera on a tripod I had. I made sure to run through my lines and actions quickly before we started. We started with the outdoor scenes. While we were outside, I suggested filming some extra scenes. My thinking was that in case one of the scenes was messed up or needed to be longer, we would have more of that scene. So we went back to using the hose. My little brother got to drive again and everyone was happy. After filming the extra scenes we moved onto the new ones. We all went inside and began to film the indoor scene

Production Blog: Park Scenes

Last weekend my group was able to starting filming our music video. It was a unanimous decision to show up in shorts and t-shirts. The first thing that was discussed was how to film the video if all of us were going to be in the video. There was a struggle with finding a good place to set the camera. I ended up setting the camera somewhere that it would be able to record without an issue. The next thing that had to be discussed was the lack of rain. The solution was to use a hose and add in some effects later. The original plan was to do it in the rain. This was because the storyboard was created during the rainy season when it rained nearly everyday. Finally, after solving all the present issues, I set up the camera and got into place for the scene. Once the camera was rolling, everything else went smooth. I completed my scenes flawlessly. My favorite scene was the one where I get picked up by my 'Uber'. I had my little brother drive a golf cart over to me. To prepare for this

Our original plan was to film last weekend. We also planned to do it in the rain. However, we did not consider the fact that everyone was going to be on vacation. Tom is going to Houston, Texas with his family. Nicolas is going to Indianapolis with his neighbor. I will be going to Tennessee with my friend. We realized that we couldn't keep postponing the project. We wanted to at least have some of the project filmed before the next production blog was due. There was no school on the upcoming Tuesday. So we decided to film our project then. Tom and Nicolas agreed that we could film at my house. It also helped that I have a golf cart we can use to get around. The golf cart can also be used in some of the scenes. After deciding the location we had to arrange the time. The group decided on 1 PM. Our next issue was the rain. We realized the rainy season was officially over. Now we had to come up with another solution. Our solution for now was to use a hose in place of rain.

Production blog: Planning Time, Date, and Location

Image
We began brainstorming ideas for our collaborative project. We selected my house as the filming location. Everyone settled on filming on Wednesday after school. The chosen time is 4 PM. I considered the lighting in different places. We'll use the local park for the main scenes. The park will be great for the beginning and end shots. We discussed the project's theme and script. I arranged for any necessary props and costumes. We will have a planning meeting over the phone on Tuesday. The equipment checklist includes cameras, mics, and tripods. If we need anything else, we will create a budget and split it equally. I created a shot list for the entire project. We allocated specific roles for each team member. We want to be as organized as possible. My friends will arrive a bit early on Wednesday. We'll have a quick production meeting before starting. We plan to film for about 3 hours in total. I plan to bring snacks and refreshments during breaks. The project is set, and we&#

Storyboard for my Music Video

Establishing shot of the basketball court while its raining. Everyone standing in different places, not talking. Benjamin pulls out an umbrella and goes out in the rain. Cut to Uber app on his phone.  Nicolas walks over to Benjamin while he's holding the umbrella and starts talking. Tom walks over to the other two and starts talking to them. Benjamin's Uber pulls up and he asks his friends if they wanna go with him. They agree and once everyone is in the car they drive off. The car pulls up to a house and everyone gets out. Tom and Nicolas follow Benjamin inside the house. The group sits down on a couch and starts playing games. Cut to a SpongeBob type scene that says "2 hours later". Tom decides to get up and check the weather outside. It is sunny outside. A montage of the group walking around the city. The three new friends approach the basketball court together smiling in the sunlight. The final scene is the basketball flying into the basket.

Planning for my Music Video

Image
We started by trying to decide on our song for our music video. We wanted something strong and with meaning. We also felt it should be able to be molded into something we were proud of. W e looked around for a while and decided on the song. We chose Umbrella by Beyoncé. We felt it would be a good match for us and our vision. For the video we only need a couple of simple props. We are going to use an umbrella and a hose. We will use the umbrella to shield us from the water we are using from the hose to simulate rain. For costumes we will be wearing casual clothing which we feel is not too important to get wet. We will try to do it when it is raining or cloudy. If we can't do that, then we will do it later in the day when the sun is not as high up so that it fits the environment for the video we have for the video. We are planning on doing it at one of our backyards as the grass and trees will help sell the fact that we are in the rain like how we want. Our backup plan is to go to a

My group for the Music Video

I created my group by first thinking about who lives close to me. I reasoned that driving 40 mins away wouldn't be a good idea. So I decided to ask my good friend Nicolas Williams to work with me. The only issue was he had no idea what the project was, because he had the class later in the day. Once he learned what the project consisted of, he agreed and we created our group. Later my friend Tom Lluch texted me, asking to join my group. Now I am working with Tom Lluch and Nicolas Williams. I chose to work with them for several reasons. One I am good friends with both of them. Two, I live close enough to them that transportation is not an issue. Three, I have worked with both of them before and know that we will be able to complete the project on time. The song we chose was Umbrella. It was made in 2007 by Rihanna. We chose this song because it seemed like a good clean song that we could all agree on using. Some of our other song choices were "Moon" by Kanye West, "Ca
