Reflection

What technology did you learn to use? I decided to use my phone as the main device I would use for putting project together. However, I did also use my laptop to write the blogs. I used my phone for various technologies, like mobile apps and websites. This included apps such as iMovie and Google Photos. My phone served as a hub for accessing information, and I learned to use search engines and web browsers effectively. Additionally, I explored camera technology and mobile editing apps for photography and video creation. Overall, my phone introduced me to a range of applications and services that contributed to my digital literacy. What did you learn about the process of putting a project together? I learned several things in the process of putting this project together. The first thing I learned was how to showcase what I thought represented me. I needed to find pictures, videos and a song that represented me in a way, and this took some time for me, as it was a new task I haven't

Production Blog: Final

Image
This is the final blog. At this point I have everything except for the music. I want to put the song "Life is a highway". The first issue I encountered was how to get the music into the film, as I do not have apple music. I began to research different ways to get music imported to iMovie. One of the ways was to screen record the track and insert the video with audio only. This meant all I had to do was adjust the timing of everything to fit right. First I made sure each image showed for eight seconds. Then I worked on adjusting the timing of the audio. This took way longer than I thought. I redid the audio track seven times before I was content. The first two times I included the beginning of the video which was just the sound of cars starting up and an old film starting to roll. The next four times I included the instrumental, which covered a large amount of the commercial and didn't allow for too much of the lyrics to be played. Finally I edited the audio so that it wou

Production Blog: Creation & Song Decision

The last blog left the project organized and ready to be formed into one long video. These clips were all in the order I wanted, but the timing wasn't exactly right. It was also still missing the intro and outro slides. I realized I could make the slides on iMovie and didn't need to use PowerPoint. I added a black background, to start with. Then I put in the text. I realized I could add a transition for the words and started trying to find one I liked. I eventually settled on the transition called 'focus'. I repeated this process for the outro and was ready to start working on the timing. I made each picture show for 8 seconds. The first video was shortened to 9 seconds. The second video was only 3 seconds. In total the pictures were 48 seconds and the videos were 12 seconds. The last part that needed to be added was the song. I couldn't decide on a good song to use for the commercial. I knew I needed something clean that could be used in the background. I thought a

Production Blog: Organization

Image
Last blog was about getting my media into the commercial. This blog will be about editing the media into a smooth production. After adding in all the media and doing all the math for each slide I was ready to start. I started by figuring out what order I want the slides to go in. I put the intro slide first. Then I decided to put the picture of me driving. I thought the picture of me in my neighbors Ferrari should go next. My reasoning was they both involved cars. The next picture I put was the one of me in the banana costume at the debate. Then I had decided to rethink that decision. This was because there was a video also taken at the same debate. So, I put the picture of me standing at the waterfall instead. I put the picture of me at the debate after that one. The first video I put as the one of me walking around at the debate tournament. The next video I put was the one of me when I was 10. That one was taken at a sailing camp. I wondered if there was going to be a voiceover to ex

Production Blog: Application

Image
I started the project by deciding what application I should use to create my commercial. After careful deliberation between iMovie and Cap Cut, I eventually decided to choose iMovie. Once I choose the app I would use, I had to figure out how to import my pieces of media. Luckily, iMovie is from apple, so it was already connected to my camera roll. I searched my camera roll for about 15 minutes finding all of the pictures and videos I needed. I then imported my four pictures and two videos. I went to go import my song, but realized I needed to change it first. The issue is it had language that was not school appropriate. I decided that I would deal with the song later and focus on the rest of the commercial first. So I started to adjust the length of each picture. I knew the total time was 60 seconds. I knew the videos were 16.5 seconds when added together. The math added up to be 43.5 seconds for the 4 pictures. This meant about 10.8 seconds for each picture. I then thought about addin

When choosing the photos and videos I would be using for the commercial I had to think about what would best represent me. The first picture I decided to choose was one of me sitting in a Ferrari. The Ferrari belonged to one of my neighbors and I saw them outside, so I decided to go over and talk to them, which led to me sitting in their brand new Ferrari. The next picture I choose was one of me wearing a banana costume. I was at a debate tournament in Gainesville and I had brought a banana costume because it was the week of Halloween. So when the judge of the round said we could wear anything, I decided to wear the costume during the debate round. We did end up losing the round, but it was still one of the most fun and memorable debate rounds I have ever done. My third picture is of me looking up at a waterfall. The picture was taken in Juneau, Alaska at the Mendenhall Glacier. I choose it because the picture was taken right before I slipped and fell into the water, leaving my socks
