Filming the Scenes

We are finally getting to film our movie. I've been waiting for this. Due to limited time, the filming will most likely be split into two or more days. We wanted to get the hardest scenes out of the way first. We figured it would be the best choice. The first thing we filmed was the office scene. This was easy, but we wanted to do it earlier to maximise our nighttime shooting. We all have a hard curfew of 11 PM and didn't want to be in a time crunch. So started around mid-afternoon with the indoor scenes. The office scene took longer than expected. Our main issue was the lighting. We couldn't get it right, and wanted something specific. After some time playing with the overhead lighting, window shades, tableside lamps, and flashlights we finally got it the way we wanted it to be. After getting the lighting right, we focused on the car scenes. This took more planning to get right. The street was filmed on was the perfect setting. It was just what we had in mind for the film and was relatively quiet. Getting to film the driving scenes was so much fun. I really enjoyed the weather as well with the convertible roof on the car. The drone was harder to fly than expected, so we may or may not use the footage from it. We refilmed some scenes and added extra angles in case the editing part required more footage. That was all for today, hopefully we will finish on the next film day so we can start editing.

Our Pitch Blog- Final Task

Pitch A: A little boy named Tom was walking home one day, while a mysterious man watches him. Will he make it home safely before he gets kidnapped?  Pitch B: The neighborhood park seemed quiet and peaceful, until someone took a step towards the shadows. What will they think once they discover the true mystery about their park? Pitch A Discussion: This story is about a little boy who gets kidnapped. We want to do this because it seems like a fun and creative choice. We've already planned out a perfect place to do it, in a dark street with only one light. We already had some very good ideas on incorporating credits, and all have our roles shifted into place for it. Production Blog: Filming Part 2

 Todays blog is about filming, again. This time we filmed the night scenes. The best time for this was around 7 PM. The hardest part of the day was finding the right place. The street had to be empty. Traffic would have made filming in the middle of the street really hard. It could also have been too loud for the camera and blocked out our voices. To find the best street we just drove around. We spent almost 45 mins searching for the perfect place. Eventually we found it. It was just what we were looking for. It was dark and had almost no traffic. We got our places set up and got ready to film. Our group went over the script again. Then the angles and movements needed. Once everyone was ready and in place we started. These outdoor scenes were really fun to film. The only issue was the cold. We were outside for a while and it was windy. Filming took about 2 hours. Overall today went great and I'm excited for the next one.
